Can Shaquille O’Neal and the Cleveland Cavaliers beat Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic the first time they meet in the NBA Regular season?

On his arrival in Cleveland, Shaquille O’Neal said his goal this season was to “win a ring for the King,” which was in reference to new teammate LeBron James’ nickname “King James”. Will Cleveland be big enough for these two superstars to exist though? O’Neal is still a major celebrity and a powerful force on the basketball floor but for all the attention he is likely will draw, he has pledged to defer to James on the court.
O’Neal has been in this kind of situation before, where he has to share the spotlight and co-exist with another teammate who is also a major celebrity. Things did not work out great then remember; Penny Hardaway and the Magic, Kobe Bryant and the Lakers and Dwayne Wade and the Miami Heat. Cleveland fans need to wonder if and how they work out now.
But O’Neal has made it clear that the Cleveland Cavaliers are LeBron’s team and that he has no intention of being the cause of any disruption. We have to think that maybe in his last years in the NBA he will not have a problem being the co-star.
O’Neal and everyone know he is in Cleveland for one reason. If Cleveland wants to win a title they will have to beat the Orlando Magic and Dwight Howard. Despite finishing last season with the NBA’s best record, the Cavs lost to the Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference finals. Needing to gain a better match up with Dwight Howard, Cleveland traded for O’Neal. O’Neal may not be the force he once was, but he can still draw a double team in the post freeing up room for LeBron to work.
The big test comes Wednesday November 11th when Cleveland meets Orlando for the first time in the regular season.

This is intresting. Im not a huge fan or Orlando and their team makeup. I think Management has invested to much money in players like Rashard Lewis and left their best player Dwight Howard out to dry with the loss of Key Players like Turkolou (SP?). On the other side it will be intresting how the Cavs use Shaq and Igauskus together. Will they rotate, will they play at the same time? Great high low option with Iggy out top with the nice touch and Shaq down low in the post. Throw in Labron, with good chemistry the Cavs could go far. Ill go with the Cavs.

Cavs are too slow down low, they cannot guard Lewis when he plays the 4. The Magic are basically built to beat the Cavs.
